Surviving and Thriving in the New World of Work  
(Workshop Length:  3.5 hours)

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The world of work has changed dramatically in recent years and the evidence suggests that it will continue to do so into the foreseeable future.  Individual and employer expectancies and employer-employee relationships have been turned upside down.  What is a person to do?  This workshop is designed for individuals who want to be proactive actors and not passive recipients in this changing scene; it will examine the changes and trends  that are occurring in the world of work,  and using this information it will provide strategies and techniques for living effectively in the new work environment.

Intended Audience: Individuals interested in improving their ability to function effectively in the new world of work.

FACULTY:  MICHAEL J. GEBOY, Ph.D., has devoted his career to research and practice in the field of human behavior change.  He has been on the faculty of Georgetown University, the University of Maryland, and the University of Texas-Tyler.  He has also taught at Trinity College, Dublin Ireland.  He was co-author of the program "Making Change Work For You" designed to assist Dept. of Veterans Affairs staff manage the major changes in that organization.     He is currently Executive Director of the non-profit organization the Southwest Health Professions Education Center, Inc., and a Manager in the VA National Employee Education System.  Dr. Geboy has published numerous articles and a textbook on behavior change; and speaks frequently throughout the country.
