Southwest Health Professions Education Center, Inc. (SEC) is a non-profit organization in partnership with the Northern Arizona VA Health Care System (NAVAHCS) in Prescott, and the VA Employee Education System, Prescott Center.  The partnership was established in 1993 for the purpose of helping to meet the continuing education (CE) needs of post-graduate health care providers in Arizona and the Southwest.

The mission of the partnership is to provide continuing education opportunities for the post-graduate health care professional - including physicians, dentists, psychologists, nurses, licensed professional counselors, social workers, and other health care professionals - to assist them in addressing their professional development needs.  More specifically, our purpose is to assist them to improve their competence in professionally relevant ways; to make possible the acquisition of new skills and knowledge, and to strengthen the habits of critical inquiry and balanced judgments that denote the professional and scientific person.
