PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: This training will encourage you to take your Yoga skills with you into your workplace. Whether the job involves lifting, typing, or sitting -- Yoga practice can help prevent common work-related injuries. This program will cover Yoga routines designed for all levels, all sizes, all degrees of strength, and mobility. Participants will practice breathing techniques, relaxation/meditation, balance, back care, flexibility, and strengthening exercises. The program is designed for office settings, with some “take-home” practice to compliment the training experience. Participants are encouraged to wear clothing that offers room for movement and ease of breath. FACULTY: Christy Burnette is an E-RYT500, Certified Anusara Teacher who utilizes Yoga in rehabilitation and for personalized training with people of all levels of mobility. Ms. Burnette travels nationwide offering in depth Yoga Teacher Trainings, Yoga Therapy Trainings, workshops, and retreats. Her approach is based on a strong understanding of body movement and alignment, an approach which is strengthened by her passion for offering both physical and emotional support to people learning Yoga. As the Director of Yoga Education for the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts, Ms. Burnette designed, wrote, and implemented a 200-hour Yoga teacher training program, with her team placing over 200 graduating students worldwide every year. A strong component to her teaching is Yoga “off-the-mat” programs. Ms. Burnette’s outdoor activity company, “Left Handed Adventures”, takes Yoga one step further where Yoga students expand their boundaries and explore their relationships to the world around them.
