DENTAL BODY MECHANICS(10DM)

November 5, 2010
8:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Sheraton Tucson Hotel & Suites

5151 E. Grant Road

Tucson, AZ   85712

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Do you suffer from back and neck problems? Are you aware the dental profession is the number ONE profession contributing to these dysfunctions? Learning to adapt your body mechanics and posture to your work environment can help you feel better at the end of the work day, and contribute to prolonging your career. This half-day interactive seminar provides tools to help you change the way you breathe, stand, sit, sleep, move, and work, in ways that can: prevent you from becoming an injured statistic, help prevent development of symptoms, or assist in management of present symptoms. Handouts will be provided for your daily reference. Implementing the lifestyle changes presented at this event can improve the quality of your dental practice and your life! Bring the dental team so they can benefit, as well as encourage you in using this information.

FACULTY: Terry Roach, M.Ed., is a Registered Kinesiotherapist and President of Body Stabilization Training, Inc., a physical therapy and kinesiotherapy facility in Phoenix, Arizona, which specializes in back and neck rehabilitation.  Ms. Roach is a multi-World and National Masters Track Cycling champion.  She is an expert in body mechanics and functional skills. Her focus is on re-educating people how to move at home, at work, and in sport environments to decrease the chance of injury and improve performance within their realm.  Ms. Roach has given educational and ergonomic seminars to fitness professionals, therapists, dentists, nurses, firefighters, doctors, surgeons, construction workers, and professional athletes. Her most requested topics are back and neck care, and injury prevention.  In this industry since 1984, and in private practice since 1991, “Terry’s Body Stabilization Training” program has evolved over the years based on her own afflictions with a back surgery, 3 level neck fusion, and recovery from multiple serious bicycle crashes.  After those injuries she was able to return to Velodrome racing successfully.  She understands how to modify all situations to get people back to an active lifestyle and enjoying quality of life. She has produced four instructional DVD’s and contributed to numerous publications. Go to www.bodystabilization.com for more information on her programs.
